Job Summary/Description:

KWQC-TV6 is looking for a reporter to join our dynamic morning news team. This position will perform daily live shots, breaking news coverage, as well as fill-in anchor for the morning newscast. This position is fast paced with tight deadlines and requires someone who can think on their feet. We are looking for a great storyteller. You must have the desire and ability to uncover unique, enterprising stories, and tell those stories in an engaging presentation.

Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• The ideal candidate has the potential and drive to fill-in anchor, when needed.
• You will work with the Content Director and morning show EP on daily story selection and setup for your morning live shots.
• Write and post copy daily on all digital platforms, social media, news apps, and OTT channels as new information is learned.
• Report live for morning newscast daily – excellent live skills in day-to-day and breaking news coverage
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), proven news judgement, ethics, and integrity.
• Strong work ethic, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Must be able to work quickly, make deadlines, multi-task and show composure, especially during breaking news.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- A College degree in journalism broadcasting or related field.
- Experience is a plus.
- In lieu of a college degree, applicants with 1 or more years of experience in the broadcast or forecasting industry will be considered.
- Knowledge and experience with HTML and the capabilities of Web browsers is needed along with knowledge of Photoshop, Google drive and apps, etc.
- A strong candidate already knows how to write for web-based platforms and can work
under intense deadlines.
