Job Summary/Description:

10/11 News is accepting applications for a full-time assignment editor. You will be a key manager of the day's news process for the market's #1 station, and the center of information coming into our Lincoln newsroom.

Duties/responsibilities include, (but are not limited to):
• Effectively track, prioritize, and manage all information coming into the newsroom
• Communicate with story sources or contacts to help verify or begin developing story content
• Work with newsroom managers to decide on daily coverage priorities, and delegate assignments to newsroom staff
• Respond urgently, decisively, and effectively when breaking news occurs
• Maintain a coverage calendar, including local events and court cases
• Help organize and track camera gear and vehicle assignments
• Assist with newsroom digital duties, including posting stories to our apps, website, and social media platforms
• There will be live, on-camera streaming anchoring opportunities for the right candidate

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Exceptional news judgment
• At least 2 years of professional newsroom experience
• Experience and ability in coordinating news coverage and generating story ideas
• Professional phone and email skills
• The ability to use exceptional new judgment to prioritize tasks and assignments
• Familiarity with ENPS, Edius or other non-linear editing systems, TVU, Bitcentral, or ARC Publishing a plus
• Knowledge of Lincoln, NE, and surrounding communities a plus
