Job Summary/Description:

KAIT 8 in Northeast Arkansas is looking for a motivated, innovative producer for our morning show. The ideal candidate will be aggressive about breaking news and provide new and interesting content for our viewers. This producer should be a show crafter who possesses excellent writing skills and pays meticulous attention to detail.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for creating interesting content for morning show viewers
- Oversee all details of the broadcast while working closely with members of the news team
- Responsible for the stacking,writing, showcasing and overall flow of the newscast
- Time & manage the on-air product from the control room
- Contribute story ideas
- Handle breaking news and severe weather in an aggressive and timely manner

Requirements:
- BA/BS in Journalism/Communications or equivalent experience required
- Knowledge and understanding of all media platforms, including broadcast, digital, social and mobile
- Demonstrated ability of good news judgment and journalistic integrity
- Ability to write, edit, produce and gather content under strict deadlines
- Ability to interpret information to establish facts and determine truth
- Knowledge of ENPS and other news programs or ability to learn
- Experience with non-linear editing
- Act as a team player while displaying an ability to handle a variety of tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline driven, stressful environment
