Temporary Editorial Assistant, Prevention

Your Impact:

Prevention, a long-standing, award-winning health and wellness brand, is looking for a freelance editorial assistant who is passionate about health, eager to learn, and who loves to write.This position is primarily focused on writing and producing daily digital content, including news and SEO articles on a wide range of health and wellness related subjects. Our freelance EA is also a crucial member of the team that produces the annual Prevention Virtual Walk. Work on that project includes administrative tasks as well as writing and building a newsletter.This full-time opportunity currently reports to our NYC office Wednesdays and Thursday.

What You'll Do:
• Pitch health and wellness news stories several days per week
• Pitch evergreen content in several categories (including health, mental health, beauty, nutrition, and relationships) once per month
• Report and write 6-7 SEO and e-commerce stories as assigned per month
• Build content, including sourcing photos, in Hearst's CMS
• Serve as liaison with vendors and participants for Prevention's annual Virtual Walk
• Manage database of T-shirt orders for Virtual Walk
• Write and build Prevention Virtual Walk newsletter weekly for 8 weeks
• Assist editors with membership projects

The base salary for this role is between $18/hr and $20/hr. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
