Job Description

Town & Country seeks a super-organized, detail-oriented Assistant to the Editor in Chief to provide administrative and strategic support, essentially doing whatever it takes to keep her office running smoothly. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Town & Country's subject matter and have a general interest in editorial.

What you'll do
• Schedule appointments for, and on behalf of, the EIC
• Maintain calendars and keep the EIC informed of her schedule daily
• Field phone calls and take accurate messages
• File expense reports on a timely basis, in keeping with Hearst's policies and procedures
• Meet and greet visitors at all levels of seniority
• Make and update travel arrangements
• Coordinate special events and mail out invites
• Mail out magazine issues
• Other duties as assigned (project research, miscellaneous errands, etc.)

Who you are
• You have a college degree.
• You have prior experience with administrative duties during the course of an internship at a magazine or in another related field is preferred.
• You have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• You have very strong organizational, issue-resolution, and decision-making skills.
• You have sound judgment and the ability to discreetly handle confidential material.
• You have strong writing skills.
• You have knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel; knowledge of K4 or Woodwing production system is helpful.
