FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the US These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KRIV FOX 26 has an opening for a high-energy, skilled meteorologist with a strong presence on-air and on multiple digital platforms. Must be able to turn data into a relatable story that focuses on how weather impacts the lives of viewers and digital consumers. Weather is a priority at FOX 26, and the successful candidate will be able to identify the weather story of the day and present it in a clear, concise manner both on-air and on all digital platforms. We are looking for an energetic, team-player with a commanding delivery, who is calm but direct under pressure. Must have a passion for severe weather and be able to sustain excellent continuous coverage for long periods. Experience with radar, severe weather, and hurricane forecasting is a plus. The main on-air weather anchoring presence will be on weekends but with extensive on-air and digital responsibilities throughout the week.

The right candidate must be able to provide weather forecasts and long-form weather updates for all platforms, including broadcast, web, streaming, and social. Versatility is the name of the game. We need someone who presents live from the studio and the field. The right candidate can sustain long-form severe weather coverage but also be live and engaging at a community event. The ability to produce feature news content is a plus. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their work, who wants to be a part of the community, and enjoys being part of a team. The ideal candidate must connect with the community on all platforms, including speaking at schools, community events, and other forms of outreach. Must have a polished on-air presentation with a strong basis in science.

Qualifications: Minimum of three years of experience working as a weather anchor in a medium or large market preferred.

Education: College degree in Meteorology preferred.
Other: Current or in process AMS Seal or NWS certification. Working knowledge of weather systems and newsroom computers. Ability to ad-lib effectively with news anchors. Good news judgment and knowledge of fair and accurate journalism practices. Excellent people, writing, and communication skills. Must be a team player and flexible with schedule changes to cover vacations, absences, etc.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

Regularly stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
