Fox Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 29 stations in 18 markets and covering over 37% of US television homes. This includes seven duopolies in the top 10 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, DC and Houston; as well as duopolies in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KRIV FOX 26/KTXH My20, the Fox O&O duopoly in Houston, TX, has the rare opportunity to bring on a dynamic personality to coverage in one of the best sports towns in America! We are looking for a sports reporter/anchor who is a true sports journalist who goes beyond the X's and O's.
Our ideal candidate knows the teams, professional, college and high school and loves telling their stories. The ideal candidate has strong experience in both daily reporting, live anchoring newscasts as well as live sports coverage. This candidate has the ability to forge connections with teams and their players, and is a proven storyteller who delivers high quality stories that are impactful and memorable. You must be a self-starter with excellent news judgement. In this role, you will contribute daily on a variety of platforms to enhance our overall sports coverage in studio, on digital and in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with news management and other members of the unit to lead sports coverage
• Ability to write and voice enterprise packages, sportscasts in a clear, concise and conversational manner
• Contribute to sports coverage online along with the digital team during daily coverage as well as breaking sports coverage
• Develop and maintain strong sports sources and relationships to ensure exclusive coverage opportunities
• Be able to ad-lib for lengthy time periods on breaking news or sports coverage as required
• Planning for coverage, additional crew requests and travel in an advanced, timely manner

REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 3-5 years in medium to large markets as a television sports anchor/reporter preferred
• Demonstrated storytelling experience
• Proven contribution and engagement on social media/digital
• Must be a self-starter
• Work well in a team environment with ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will mesh well with co-workers, supervisors and viewers
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
• Maintain professional and ethical conduct at the station and in the community
• Must be able to work flexible schedule, hours, shifts and shows, including evenings, weekends, mornings and holidays will be required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• Must be willing to travel for the station when needed
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
• Ability to shoot and/or edit preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license and credit card
• Must comply with all FOX corporate and station policies
