Are you a top tier journalist who wants to cover news in one of the most interesting and diverse television markets in the country?

Fox 26 Houston is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and creative Executive Producer to oversee production of all evening and late newscasts. The successful candidate should be an extraordinary ''people manager'' who can coach and challenge the staff to perform at their highest levels every day. This EP will coordinate will coordinate news coverage in partnership with the digital team. Must have a ''digital first'' view on breaking news. The EP should be a leader, coach and journalist with an inspiring ''will to win'' attitude with excellent news judgment, knowledge of current events, and excellent communication skills. Will work with our producers, reporters, anchors, photographers, editors, production crew and assignment editors to produce compelling live news coverage. The EP leads editorial calls, manages rundowns, approves scripts, and contributes to other newsroom planning. This includes, but is not limited to, coordination of newsgathering, graphics production and approval of the final product. Strong writing skills are a must. Must have a working knowledge of libel laws, fair use and journalistic ethics. Understanding of ratings, impressions, and audience flow, and the knowledge of how to use this information to attract a demographically driven audience is required. Candidates need to be innovative, and bring ideas on how to evolve our broadcasts.

Will also coordinate news coverage in partnership with our digital team. May require fill in producing for a newscast as needed. Must have a dedicated, driven and tireless work ethic, with a 24/7 approach to managing our team.

We prefer someone with at least 5 years of experience as a Newscast Producer in a major market, or at least 2 years of experience as an Executive Producer in a major to middle sized Market. Bachelor's degree in a communication-related field is preferred.
