KCPQ-TV/KZJO-TV Digital Content Creator
Q13 FOX is hiring a Digital Content Creator to be part of our next-level team in Seattle, Washington - home of some of the most influential tech companies in the world. The successful candidate will report to the Digital Content Manager and News Director. Works closely with news producers and FOX web team to keep web site current with news and information. Conceptualize and produce creative online material; understanding of user online behavior. Must excel at writing and is fluent in social media. The ideal candidate has a passion for news and needs to be a self-starter. The Digital Content Creator is responsible for updating Q13 FOX's website, and all social media platforms; writing and posting stories from newscasts, finding unique web content, along with monitoring social media for developments, and to engage our audience on platforms.

Candidate must have solid news judgment, knowledge of print-style writing, AP style, copy editing, and editorial newsgathering. The applicant should also have basic knowledge of HTML. Preferred experience in content management systems, BitCentral, editing, and iNEWS. Demonstrated ability to accurately report breaking news on all platforms. Handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work independently and/or on a team to handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment. Must understand current trends in social media and drive engagement on station social media platforms. Must have the ability to learn and use new software quickly, including Photoshop. Ability to troubleshoot web site problems. Excellent print/web writing, web editing, troubleshooting, and web production skills req. Demonstrate strong news judgment, journalistic integrity, and knowledge of print and broadcast newsroom standards and styles. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work exp. A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred, along with at least 1-2 years of experience working for an online news organization posting content to social media platforms. Knowledge of internet publishing software and content management. Candidate will be given assessments on writing for the web during the interview process. Weekends, holidays, OT and varied hours required.
