JOB DESCRIPTION

FoxBusiness.com is looking for an experienced Senior Business Editor to join our team with years of experience covering financial news at the national level. You will have a wide understanding of financial markets, economic data, key newsmakers, and consumer trends, as well as sources that will enable you to help break news and dig in on original reporting and help score exclusive interviews.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the managing editors with editorial direction, breaking news & reporter assignments while helping mentor/manage team members
• Help monitor and edit financial markets, stock, and economic stories
• Oversee coverage of all corporate news, investing, and consumer trends
• Collaborate on stories hitting the intersection of business-politics
• Knowledge of corporate newsmakers, emerging industries
• Understanding of popular business culture trends
• Execute original reporting, including long-term projects and interviews
• Manage daily/weekly story planning
• Collaborate closely with FOX Business Network editors and reporters

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Minimum of five years of experience covering business news
• Knowledge of AP style is vital, as is a clear and crisp writing style
• Understanding of SEO specifics to drive traffic
• Experience in managing and mentoring team members
• Familiar with economic reports, corporate earnings, SEC filings, newsmakers
• Possess a firm grasp of current business trends and skilled at being precise, quick, and accurate in presenting the news to the vast FoxBusiness.com audience
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment
• Ability to be flexible and can work on some holidays as needed; possess ''on-call'' mentality and be prepared to work under emergency or breaking news conditions
