Job Description
At the direction of Vice President, ESPN Events, the Executive Director of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the bowl game. Essential duties will include but are not limited to Sales Development and procurement, Marketing, Game Operations and dealing with a local advisory board made up of sponsors and civic leaders. The Executive Director will work directly with the schools and the member conferences to ensure a positive and rewarding bowl experience for all participants.

Responsibilities:
• Develop a Marketing and Sales plan for both sponsorship and ticket sales to develop an annual budget
• Create an annual plan that charts out and implements bowl related activities including bowl week and other ancillary programs
• Work with the ESPN Events staff in Charlotte and provide required feedback related to sales, marketing efforts, status updates and event recaps
• Be a leader within the community and speak on behalf of the bowl at civic functions and other events as necessary
• Work with ESPN Events to mold the direction of the bowl with respect to future match-ups
• Work with sponsors, the executive committee and the business community to ensure healthy relations and long-term partnerships with all parties
• Develop the sales and marketing strategy and its implementation for all bowl events and other related activities
• Develop and present effective sales concepts and proposals in an effort to secure corporate sponsorship
• Coordinate the fulfillment of all Bowl related sponsorships.
• Oversee selling of corporate ticket packages.
• Create/Develop new event opportunities in the Boise market.

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional setting
• Experience in and understanding of event operations
• Strong knowledge of college football, college basketball, and the college bowl system
• Strong computer skills including knowledge and use of all Microsoft office programs

Preferred Qualifications:
• 7 years of diversified sports management experience.
• Experience in a sport or event related capacity including a professional team, local organizing committee, Convention & Visitors Bureau, athletic department or other related business
• Good presentation skills
• Excels at teamwork
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills
• Strong knowledge of ticket sales, marketing and corporate sales.
