Job Description
At the direction of the Executive Director of the Armed Forces Bowl and the First Responder Bowl, the Sales Manager, will be responsible for generating revenue through advertising and sponsorship sales. Responsible for generating ticket sales and corporate package sales. The Sales Manager will represent Event business in Dallas, TX (First Responder Bowl), Ft. Worth, TX (Armed Forces Bowl) and Frisco, TX (Frisco Bowl). The Sales Manager will work in conjunction with Executive Director to develop sales plans to obtain revenue goals. The Sales Manager will have the opportunity to develop sales packages/strategies that includes selling into the variety of ESPN Events owned and operated events. In addition to generating revenue, the Sales Manager will provide on-site support to include, but not limited to, multiple game day operations, support of sponsorship executions, interaction with sponsors/clients, pre and post event maintenance, recaps, and any other sponsor related activities/needs.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Executive Director to develop sales goals/sales plan for Events (AFB, FRB, FB)
• Work with Executive Director to create sales opportunities that includes any events in the ESPN Events portfolio
• Develop sales strategies for game ticket sales and corporate ticket sponsorship packages sales
• Generate advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and cold-calling new prospects
• Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients
• Establishes credible relationships with local business community
• Support sales efforts through proper fulfillment of sales elements and assists in identifying opportunities for sponsorship growth
• Represent our company, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work across multiple event deadlines
• Achieve long-range objectives and implement the strategies and actions necessary to achieve them
• Assist the Executive Director in ensuring corporate compliance in all areas
• Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional setting
• Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them
• Proven track record of success the sales cycle from plan to close
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation skills and organizational skills
• Strong knowledge of college football and college basketball
• Strong computer skills including knowledge and use of all Microsoft office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-4 years in sales management within a corporate setting
• Superb leadership ability and team work
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration
