What You'll Do
Today, we are growing the team that is forging the first adventures in LEGO Fortnite, blending the engaging and welcoming Fortnite universe with the creativity and playfulness of LEGO. We're looking for a Gameplay Programmer for the World Building team within LEGO Fortnite to help craft highly visually stunning and compelling worlds, that players keep returning to enjoy new and varied content the world has to offer. In this role, you will
• Architect features related to Lego Fortnite's World Building Systems.
• Technical Lead for the World Building Team, own and productize all the technical challenges covered by the team.
• Work with production partners to develop roadmaps and prioritize work for live service releases.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-discipline leads (technical art and design) to understand and bring to life their ideas.
• Identify opportunities to improve the performance and stability of our large worlds.
What we're looking for
• Prior experience developing large gameplay framework systems
• Proficient in C++
• Proficiency in writing highly performant real-time code
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to provide, solicit, and accept feedback constructively
• Experience tracking down and debugging live service issues
• Experience leading a team of 3-5 developers.
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).
Pay Transparency Information
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
California Base Pay Range
$215,921 - $316,683 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$202,965 - $297,682 USD
