What We Do

Unreal-powered projects have been on the bleeding edge of real-time entertainment for over 20 years. Our team of programming experts are always innovating to improve the tools and technology that empower content developers worldwide.

What You'll Do

We're looking for an experienced Technical Artist who will contribute to innovative uses of the Unreal Engine on a daily basis. Your primary goal would be to empower licensees to solve technical/artistic issues in their projects and push the boundaries of the Unreal Engine. Your primary tasks will involve directly interacting with licensees, contributing to the development of the engine, and creating content that showcases the capabilities of Unreal in ways that inspire and educate.

In this role, you will
• Engage licensees in-person, via video, or over email to achieve the best possible results
• Diagnose and solve problems Unreal Engine licensees may be having with their projects
• Work with customers and technical partners from multiple industries to ensure features meet their needs
• Support a wide variety of projects across many industries
• Drive the creation and development of knowledge sharing-resources such as live presentations, whitepapers, tutorials, and knowledge base articles
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Unreal Engine
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members

What we're looking for
• User-focused, passionate, self-sufficient, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do
• Skilled in multiple aspects of the Unreal Editor such as: creation of sophisticated Blueprint scripts, materials, particle effects, animation setups, scene/level creation, lighting, performance optimization, virtual production, or linear/live content compositing
• Capable of performing various tech art-related tasks such as: shader development, visual effects creation, level construction, rigging and animation, procedural generation, or pipeline automation
• Strong written/verbal communication skills including the ability to train others, or give technical presentations to audiences with varying technical backgrounds
• Knowledgeable of one or more scripting languages such as HLSL, Python, MEL, or MaxScript
• Experienced in releasing 3D real-time mobile, console, or PC games; or relevant experience in Manufacturing, Architecture/Programming/Construction, Media & Entertainment, or Training and Simulation industries

This role is open to multiple locations across Canada and Europe (excluding British Columbia).

We will not pay any fees to any unauthorized third party. Further details on these matters can be found here.
