QUALITY ASSURANCE
What We Do
The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with engineering, art, and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a Game Tester II to join the Epic QA Map team. You'll work closely with QA analysts, QA leads, producers, and level designers on the map team to execute written tests from test plans and escalate found defects for prioritization. In this role you'll be responsible for self-prioritizing your groups of tests, focusing on map quality with functional and non-functional testing. Someone in this role will need to be an innovative problem solver willing and excited to constantly learn and grow in a quickly evolving area.
In this role, you will
• Execute functional and non-functional test cases as written, from test plans across multiple platforms
• Write clear and concise steps to reproduce issues in a bug report
• Escalate issues found in review inspection, design, and test execution and recommends prioritization when necessary
• Self-prioritize groups of tests and execute on those priorities
What we're looking for
• Technical software or troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with games on Consoles, Mobile Devices, and PCs
• Experience logging defects in bug tracking systems such as Jira
• Experience testing software within a structured QA team
Nice to Have
• Exposure to the software development life cycle and how testing applies
• Experience playing Battle Royale and/or Shooter video games
• Experience deriving creative test scenarios and executing them autonomously using personal knowledge of the product in test and available feature documentation
