What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Programmer on the Media Services team, you'll provide technical leadership for the platform powering real-time voice communication across Fortnite and the Epic Games ecosystem at massive scale. You'll help set the technical direction for Epic's WebRTC-based products and implement features from design through final delivery.
In this role, you will
• Work across Epic Games teams on the real-time communication stack, from design through hands-on implementation of new features
• Design, develop, and continuously improve our real-time communication across platforms
• Investigate and evaluate new technologies to drive innovation in real-time communication services
• Drive timelines, resolve technical blockers, and deliver with a high degree of autonomy
What We're Looking For
• Highly proficient in C++, with a strong command of performance-critical systems
• Experience with low-level game audio engines
• Experience designing and maintaining C APIs for broad platform distribution
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex, long-horizon projects
• Strong communication skills, with a track record of cross-team alignment and technical decision-making
• WebRTC signaling concepts, protocols, and architecture experience is a plus
• Debugging and optimizing WebRTC stacks at scale is a plus
