We are seeking a Senior Technical Artist who is eager to join us in our drive to push visual quality to the next level. This role will report to our Studio Technical Art Director, based in our studio in Los Angeles, California. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options, and welcome full-time remote candidates who are within a three hour time difference to the Pacific Time Zone to apply.

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be the bridge between our content creators and our game technology. You will be pushing the visual quality through creative solutions, tools that improve our pipelines, in engine problem solving and performance profiling.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with artists and engineers to pinpoint game performance and memory usage issues.
• Brainstorm, R&D, and implement various project pipelines and toolsets.
• Evaluate and improve game textures for PBR correctness
• Assist with debugging and fixing lighting and shader issues
• Support in content creation when needed.
• Diagnose problems related to level creation and support the world team.
• Work with artists to identify and solve technical problems with existing tools
• Build and maintain node-based shaders in Frostbite.

Qualifications:
• Full understanding of what it takes to deliver high quality visuals while adhering to memory and performance targets
• Experience with performance and memory profiling within game engines.
• Solid knowledge of current and next-gen art techniques as well as fundamental art principles
• Experience with procedural content creation software like Houdini, Substance Suite etc.
• Solid experience and understanding of physically based rendering.
• Knowledge and experience with common scripting languages like Python and C#
• Previous game engine experience (Unity, Unreal)
• Extensive previous game production experience
• Self-motivated, structured, proactive, and detailed oriented
• Relentless problem solver

Bonus skills:
• Knowledge and experience with common scripting languages like Python and C#.
• Experience writing shaders in HLSL.
• Experience with procedural content creation software like Houdini and Substance Suite

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $113,300 - $171,700
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $111,500 - $171,700
• Jersey City, NJ:
º $126,700 - $171,700
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $111,500 - $144,000
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $111,500 - $157,300

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
