We are hiring a Sr Software Engineer, AI-Native Operations Platform to technically own and scale GameKit Assistant and the broader AI operations platform.
This is a global technical leadership role based in India.
The Sr Software Engineer will lead architecture, engineering standards, roadmap sequencing, technical delivery outcomes, and mentorship across globally distributed teams.
We are looking for an experienced hands-on technical lead with a background in architecting high-scale backend environments and complex distributed systems. You have direct production experience with Generative AI and understand that an assistant must be performant, user-centric, secure, and built upon a foundation of operational trust.
You will report to Sr. Manager, Software Engineering and will be an individual contributor.
Important Responsibilities
You will lead the architecture and technical roadmap for GameKit Assistant and EA's AI-native operations platform.
You will build scalable platform capabilities across conversational support, knowledge operations, workflow automation, incident orchestration, evaluation, and service intelligence.
You will improve the assistant experience so responses are concise, contextual, relevant, and low-noise.
You will lead production AI capabilities including RAG, hybrid search, LLM evaluation, prompt/version management, guardrails, observability, and hallucination detection.
You will design reliable backend systems and integrations across Jira, PagerDuty, GitLab, Perforce, Shift, JaaS, TestRail, Grafana, AKS, PostgreSQL, and Azure AI services.
You will establish engineering standards for architecture, service reliability, action safety, observability, release quality, and incident readiness.
You will mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, debugging, technical guidance, and hands-on leadership.
You will convert operational friction, support patterns, and platform signals into reusable automation and intelligence capabilities.
Required Qualifications
• 12+ years building and operating large-scale backend, distributed, developer, automation, or enterprise platforms.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Scala, or similar backend languages.
• Production work with Generative AI, RAG, LLM integrations, vector search, evaluation, guardrails, observability, and AI-enabled automation.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, APIs, event-driven systems, databases, queues, caching, CI/CD, telemetry, and distributed tracing.
• Apply reliability patterns including retries, idempotency, rate limits, circuit breakers, async processing, rollout safety, and incident response.
• Design secure enterprise integrations with identity, permissions, auditability, and operational safety.
• 5+ years of experience setting technical direction, reviewing complex designs, mentoring engineers, and leading delivery across distributed teams.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Qualifications
• Background in platform engineering, SRE, cloud infrastructure, developer productivity, enterprise automation, SaaS, or similar environments.
• Built or contributed to AI-enabled support, orchestration, incident, knowledge, service intelligence, or developer assistant platforms.
• Familiarity with conversational UX, support automation, ticketing, incident workflows, human-in-the-loop systems, or action-based assistants.
• Familiarity with Azure, AKS, Azure OpenAI, PostgreSQL, Grafana, ArgoCD, GitLab, PagerDuty, or comparable technologies.
• Work with distributed teams and simplify complex systems while allowing others to deliver.
