Senior Technical Designer II

The Marketing Cinematics group is a content production team within EA Studios who produce the highest quality marketing assets, trailers, and commercials. We are a diverse team unified through collaboration, culture, and craft. We are looking for a Senior Cinematic Technical Designer II to join the team. You will report to the Senior Technology Lead.
Responsibilities:
• You have a strong problem-solving mentality and approach new technologies with determination. If it's a game engine, you can make it work regardless of which one it is.
• You support our team of artists and make sure technical problems do not stand in the way of their creativity. You will balance technical solutions for artists against project deadlines, ensuring high quality deliverables within different production schedules.
• You may contribute to shot layout, technical application, animation, fx, and rendering to achieve the final creative vision as set forward by your Art/Creative Director.
• You can identify pipeline efficiencies and collaborate with partners to build long-term solutions which improve interdepartmental workflows.
• You can advocate for necessary technical support from game team partners. You are empathetic of their unique production schedules.
• You see production patterns and understand long-term effects of pipeline decisions.
• You can speak the same language as our engineers and participate in meaningful discussion with these partners; you bridge the gap between engineers and content creators.
• Identifying bugs and lending your technical expertise is rewarding.
• You're a documentation professional who keeps clear records.
Qualifications:
• Experience with real-time workflows and the technical hurdles/limitations associated
• Experience in a digital content creation pipeline with a focus on cinematics
• Experience with source control software like Perforce and Git
• Experience using Jira or other ticketing systems
• Deep knowledge of game development frameworks and methodologies
• 3+ years of Frostbite, Unreal, or Unity experience
• 7+ years of relevant experience
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of common programming & scripting languages; C++, C#, Python
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $93,700 - $143,700 CAN AnnuallyBase salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
