Job Description
Capital Games, the studio responsible for the smash hit mobile game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, is looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to join our team in building new features for their follow up hit, and soon to be released, The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle Earth mobile game.

At Capital Games, we create excellent player experiences on mobile. You'll create user interfaces that influence every level of the product, and you'll be an advocate for the player experience. You'll collaborate across multiple disciplines and apply your creativity to new features in the game.

You'll report to the Game Director.

What You'll Do
• Redefine the player experience through user research, testing and industry-leading data analysis
• Assume the role of player advocate, applying creative design processes with producers, game designers, product managers, artists, and engineers to translate high-level requirements into compelling UX designs
• Conduct and manage heuristic evaluations of flows and screens
• Distill qualitative and quantitative data, competitive analysis and partner feedback to user centered, clear and applicable design goals
• Develop an understanding of player motivations, recommending and rationalizing UI improvements to the player experience that maximize the potential of game features
• Promote creation of a design system to ensure scalability and consistency of the UI
• Collaborate with distributed UX and UI design teams to lead quality
• Guide and contribute to prototyping efforts for user research and testing
• Produce experience maps, wireframes to high fidelity prototypes to communicate design intent, while educating and mentoring peers, partners, and teammates on user-centered design principles and methodologies
• Champion UX projects, such as the creation of design guidelines, process enhancements, toolkits, etc., promoting a player-centered culture

What You'll Need
• 7+ years of experience with large-scale consumer-facing entertainment or social products with amounts of interactive complexity
• Portfolio of products shipped, having taken several from written brief to final production
• An understanding of user research methodologies and user data analysis (qualitative and quantitative)
• A working knowledge of the fundamentals-interaction design, user-centered experience design, brand application, and the creative process
• Experience in mobile design patterns and heuristics
• Experience in aligning Production, Game Design, Art, and Engineering around a product specification
• The ability to present and rationalize design strategy and decisions to diverse audiences including executives, using these opportunities to educate and promote
• The ability to work and teach across a diverse product team, moving effortlessly between the smallest details to high-level strategy
• Excel in an Agile environment
• A portfolio demonstrating all aspects of your skill is required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

º $108,700 - $166,550
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):

º $107,450 - $166,550
• Jersey City, NJ :

º $107,450 - $166,550
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):

º $107,450 - $153,250
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

º $107,450 - $153,250

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
