What does a Procedural Technical Artist do?

As a Procedural Technical Artist, you'll report to Frostbite's Creative Director. You'll collaborate with Frostbite's content team to introduce new procedural tools and workflows using brand new engine features as they're being developed. You will work with our Procedural Product Owners to determine best practices and help envision the future of our procedural tools. Your feedback and experience working with Frostbite to develop these tools will directly affect the development of the engine.

You Will
• Create scalable procedural tools using Houdini and Frostbite.
• Collaborate with environment artists as you refine your tools based on their feedback.
• Support the content team in the use of those tools and the creation of demo content showcasing procedural solutions
• Create clear, helpful documentation for each tool.
• Use your expertise in procedural solutions to improve our procedural workflows and production solutions

You Will Need
• 5+ years of experience creating procedural solutions and algorithms in a game or film production environment.
• Expertise in Houdini and Houdini Engine
• Understand the essentials of world building for game development
• Understand the foundations of architectural design and structures

Bonus
• Portfolio of your work demonstrating your expertise in procedural solutions
• Experience in node based visual programming
• Experience working on games or game engines
• Experience using Maya, Substance or other DCCs
• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages
• Understanding of 3D mathematics and linear algebra
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira software or similar tools
