Role Overview:
We are looking for a Game Writer to help our narrative department create an exciting, immersive, and memorable story-driven Battlefield experience. Proven game development experience and a highly collaborative approach are qualities we will be looking for as you lay the foundation for the world we build and journey we'll take.
As Game Writer you will work closely with the Narrative Director and Lead Writer to execute the game's narrative vision. Collaborate with multiple disciplines to deliver thematic cohesion and integration of the game's story and characters to the player.
At Ridgeline, the narrative department is an integral part of development from beginning to end. You will be asked for your feedback from multiple disciplines and be expected to receive feedback in an open and respectful way. Your attention to detail while never losing sight of the big picture will be essential during production and will elevate the final product.

Responsibilities:
As Game Writer your responsibilities will include:
• World building: Our players expect a deeply layered, geopolitical world that is grounded in solid research and accurate detail.
• Helping to create a compelling and scalable story-driven campaign: Story ideation, script writing, and multi-discipline collaboration as we build exciting missions and cinematic moments.
• Memorable characters: We want to establish lasting emotional bonds with our story characters. It will be important that our characters are relatable to our diverse and savvy audience.
• Formatting, tracking, and updating: Maintaining an organized, nimble, and communicative narrative pipeline is essential for a production of this scale.
• An updated Story Reference Guide: A categorized series of Confluence pages that will allow current and new developers to digest the story, backstory, characters, etc.
• Other responsibilities will include sides for casting, cross-discipline communication, contributions to presentation decks and marketing materials.
Qualifications: we believe you are comfortable and have experience working with:
• 3+ years game industry experience
• AAA game writing
• Familiarity with FPS
• Game writing pipeline tools - Final Draft, Google Docs, Miro, Confluence, Excel
• Passion for the military action genre
• Love of the Battlefield franchise
• A good knowledge of modern military history, terminology, and methodology.
• Any additional writing experience from outside the game industry that you can bring to the table

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $95,450 - $141,800
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $89,200 - $141,800
• Jersey City, NJ:
º $105,250 - $141,800
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $89,200 - $118,550
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $89,200 - $130,750
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
