Our Values: We believe in an honest and transparent environment, where developers grow in our crafts. We value bold risk-taking followed by excellence through iteration. We seek developers with diverse experiences who will enrich our studio creativity.

We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled controller champion and game designer to work on the future of Battlefield. You will own and implement the direction for controller & console specific gameplay for a coming title. Working focused on the console & controller experience, you and your team will deliver best in class systems, functionality and input tuning used across multiple experiences in the project.

You will also be part of improving the general second to second combat experience and quality through pushing the boundaries of what First Person Shooters do - in how the game is controlled, how that input is tuned, gameplay is presented, behave and are networked.

In essence: You will have an opportunity to put your mark on the future of the franchise we love - and be part of a wider group tasked with delivering the highest quality gameplay for our fans.

You will report to the Studio Design Line Director at Ripple Effect, and collaborate with and report to the Design Director for Core (Combat, Weapons, Vehicles) at DICE in Europe. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options, and welcome full-time remote candidates who are within the US or Canada to apply.

Responsibilities:
• Ownership of console/controller gameplay quality and vision as part of the combat experience group
• Implementation of bindings, aim assist systems & tuning
• Implement and maintain accessibility quality across all gameplay options, button mappings and default settings
• Implement and maintain best practises for cross play support, settings and communication
• Support high-performance mode, performance settings tuning & input responsiveness quality
• Assess and implement novel & platform specific hardware support related to controls, input or console specific functionality
• Communication with key stakeholders (outside of team, globally)
• Pushing the boundaries of what best in class controls look like and play like

Qualifications:
• Deep understanding of multiple industry-leading aim assist systems
• At least one year of experience working on an AAA FPS title that supports crossplay
• Previous weapon design experience in an AAA FPS title
• Hardware proficiency on both console and PC peripherals
• Great design system documentation & presentation skills
• Cross-team collaborator with strong interpersonal skills
• Experience playing the games from the Battlefield franchise

Valuable Additional Skills
• Technical understanding of first-party and third-party controller hardware and software
• Familiarity with controller tear-downs and first-party controller SDKs
• Experience working with anti-cheat systems to future-proof against modded controller hardware
