DreamWorks Animation has an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Editor to join its team based in Glendale, CA. The Assistant Editor will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Edit suite in support of the Lead Editor. This position is covered by the Motion Picture Editors Guild.

Job Description
''What would you say you do here?''
• Maintains creative integrity of film throughout the production and post- production processes.
• Is responsible for the accurate presentation of all materials related to the film (eg: story reels, workprints, previews, tape outputs, etc.)
• Is responsible for ingesting and organizing live-action dailies to be used by the Lead Editor and working closely with script supervisor and lab/post house
• Has the ability to set up script sync formats in the Avid project
• Leads and participates in scratch, production, and ADR dialogue recording sessions and provides materials for the Lead Editor
• Under supervision from the editor, can edit
• Responsible for creation of all imports into Editorial
• Responsible for creation of all exports from Editorial (movie files, AAFs, and WAVs)
• Handles publishing all cut lists/EDLS and change notes to Production
• Is a primary point of contact with Technical Directors in production
• Acts as a creative liaison between Directors/Production
• Attends all screenings (studio and preview) and works with Directors to incorporate changes resulting from those screenings
• Attends production meetings when possible
• May help with importing Storyboard Pro projects and panels into the Avid project
Qualifications
''What do I need to have in order to do this job?''
• Intimate knowledge of AVID Media Composer
• Experience with live-action footage and live-action dailies for feature film or long-form
• Must be familiar with PIX
• Provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
• In select work settings or where jurisdictionally mandated, must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or adhere to enhanced protocols.
''What can I offer?''
• Proficiency with Photoshop is a plus
• Familiarity with Storyboard Pro is useful
• Animation editing experience is useful
• Familiarity with Pro Tools for scratch recording is preferred
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Salary Range: $89,170 - $115,000
