We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Finance Manager to support our Transactional and Licensing Operations team. This role is responsible for managing key financial processes, preparing month-end accounting entries, conducting financial forecasts, and delivering analytical reports in line with established accounting principles, practices, and company policies.
The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Hybrid 3x a week- Des Moines, Iowa
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
About The Team | The Team and/or Brand
Our Des Moines-based Business Finance team is a lean, high-performing group focused on Transactional and Licensing Operations. The team manages key financial processes, including month-end accounting, financial forecasting, and analytical reporting, all in alignment with established accounting principles and company policies.
About The Position's Contributions | Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
• 20% Prepare and record month-end journal entries in compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• 20% Partner with Operations teams to analyze financial performance and identify key drivers and trends.
• 20% Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets; provide variance analysis comparing actuals to projections.
• 20% Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to support informed business decision-making.
• 10% Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect data, validate results, and ensure accurate reporting.
• 10% Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or experience in a related field.
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in accounting with an emphasis on the month end close process.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
• Experience with Oracle and Hyperion preferred.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with teams outside of finance.
• Able to explain financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
