Job Description
A member of the sales team with responsibility for selling sports content. Responsibility for syndication business in assigned territories (and/or assigned clients). Also responsible for managing given properties including relationships with content providers.
The Opportunity & Responsibilities
Sales
• Develop budget/financial plans & targets and meet and/or exceed agreed levels
• Implement agreed plans for all syndication rights including initiating potential sales leads with both existing and new customers, implementing the entire sales process from initial contact to close of account/end of Licensed Period in the nominated territories including negotiations, contract drafting and execution, delivery and fee collection.
• Ensure distribution (as per sales plan and contract) of content including live/delayed delivery, VOD, footage and any other requirements
Manage client relationships
• Ensure sales plans are met or exceeded for assigned projects
• Implement efficient sales processes and effective rights delivery, manage client/rights' holder requests providing assistance as necessary in maintaining and enhancing positive relationship
• Maintain updated contact, sales, contracts and status reports
• Key contact for Programming, Technical and Financial issues with agreed partners
• Build and maintain strong relationships with rights holders, in conjunction with ESPN's International Programming department
Manage Internal Customer relationships
• Develop and maintain strong internal relationships with key stakeholders within ESPN EMEA, TWDC EMEA and ESPN inc. keeping stakeholders informed
• Seek to deliver maximum revenue and exposure in each territory
• Liaise with the (US and EMEA based) Programming, Production, Operations, Sponsorship Sales and Marketing departments, in all necessary activities for long term sustainable growth and development
• Liaise with the Finance department on fee collection monitoring for internal and third-party reporting
Finance
• Work alongside Head of Media Distribution and Sales Manager on sales team tracking/forecast document
• Work alongside Head of Media Distribution and Sales Manager on all Compliance/Auditing requests and queries
• Work alongside Head of Media Distribution in managing internal sales reports for all ESPN properties
• Work alongside Head of Media Distribution in forecasting sales documents for new 3rd party acquisitions, and liaising with ESPN acquisition team when applicable
• Work alongside Head of Media Distribution to provide quarterly and annual internal forecast updates for all ESPN properties
The Experience We Re
• Contribute to the development of strategy for sales, acquisitions and new business.
• Efficient and timely support internally and to external client relationships.
• A good understanding and working knowledge of the European broadcast market, preferably in Sports.
• Experience in a media rights, TV broadcasting and client servicing environment.
• Must have demonstrated track-record of strong client relationships and deal negotiation.
