Metadata Coordinator
Part of The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Music Group (DMG) is the music hub for TWDC, encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing: recorded music (Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing, and Disney Concerts. DMG distributes music both physically and digitally and licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming, and consumer products. DMG is responsible for releasing music content created by all divisions of TWDC, including but not limited to Walt Disney Studios, Pixar, LucasFilm, MARVEL, ABC, 20th Century Film and TV Studios, and Disney+.
As part of DMG, A&R Administration is a division of Finance, and its top-level responsibilities are tracking costs on Recording Projects, forecasting A&R spend for finance, collection, vetting and databasing of metadata/label copy and assets based on Production Schedule deadlines, artwork proofing/editing, and ensuring compliance with the AFM and SAG-AFTRA Collective Bargaining Agreements. This includes daily interaction with the following departments: A&R, Business Affairs, Production, Licensing, Music Publishing, Finance, Sales/Digital, Music Royalties, Marketing, and International.
The Metadata Coordinator is responsible for obtaining, inputting, and updating metadata in DMG's in-house repertoire management database as directed, in a timely manner to meet deadlines set forth by the DMG Production Schedule as well as various Accounting and Royalties directives. Additional tasks include proofreading artwork, vetting lyrics, assisting in creating and submitting Licensing ISRCs, updating contributor royalty-bearing statuses as directed, researching Publishing information and other third-party obligations as directed, as well as notifying relevant parties when metadata has been updated and may require re-transmission to DMG's distribution partners.
The following characteristics are absolutely essential in this role: attention to detail, organization, music industry and label copy knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, focus, and clear, concise communication. The ability to retain institutional knowledge is also integral in managing a very high and ever-increasing volume.
Responsibilities:
• Translate label copy/credit information as received by A&R and other third parties into Metadata and populate repertoire management system according to the Production Schedule, Accounting, and Royalties deadlines.
• Partner with Sr. Manager to confirm all relevant and necessary data points are being captured.
• Attend weekly Production Meetings.
• Assist in proofing of artwork from Production and providing necessary corrections/guidance.
• Vet lyrics to audio for correct listing in the repertoire system.
• Research and verify Publishing and ISRC information/ownership on Catalog releases.
• Input updates into repertoire management system as necessary by request from Music Royalties.
• Input updates into repertoire management system as necessary by request from Accounting
• Assist in issuing Audio ISRCs by request from Licensing.
• Research and cleansing of older Products and issues within repertoire management system.
• Develop knowledge of DMG releases.
• Develop collaborative relationships with other departments across the Group to fully support the Metadata & Label Copy team.
Basic Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
• Music industry experience highly preferred.
• Recording and music publishing industry and label copy knowledge preferred.
• Basic office administrative skills, including efficient typing (email, phones).
• Proficient in MSOffice.
• Database management experience highly preferred.
Skills

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $50,300 - $65,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
