Executive Assistant, Original Movies (Disney Branded Television)
Disney Branded Television seeks a qualified candidate for an Executive Assistant position to support 2 Vice Presidents in the Original Movies department. We develop and oversee movies for Disney + and Disney Channel, including the hit Descendants and Zombies musical franchises. Some of our recent movies include Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, and Descendants: The Rise of Red. Upcoming films include A Very Jonas Christmas Movie and Camp Rock 3. The ideal candidate also has a passion for kids and family entertainment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive administrative support to two Vice Presidents, acting as the primary point of contact for scheduling, correspondence, and general administrative tasks
• Manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings across departments, capture efficient meeting minutes, reserve conference rooms, and handle phone communication.
• Organize and book travel arrangements, create detailed itineraries, and ensure timely submission of expense reports
• Work closely with the assistant to SVP to manage departmental admin needs, including purchasing requests for supplies
• Liase with multiple internal stakeholders/teams within DBT
• Update and maintain departmental grids and reports, logging submissions, and tracking project status
• Weekly attendance at staff and department meetings
• Prepare general grids and reports as necessary to report across internal departments as they arise
• Manage script/submission coverage and communication with story analysts internally as well as ensure that submissions are responded to externally in a timely fashion
• Coordinate with Production Finance and Contract Admin on all projects
• Monitor and report on writing steps completed and those still outstanding
• Create decks as needed for internal and external presentations
• Read and watch material and provide feedback as necessary, including but not limited to – coverage on incoming submissions, notes on project scripts and cuts of movies in post-production
• Provide additional support to other executives and department as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• 1+ years of previous administrative assistant experience in a high-volume entertainment desk at a talent agency, or a studio, network, or production company
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Forward thinker who will anticipate and get out in front of needs of the executive
• Flexibility to work longer hours with short notice during busy production schedules – may include nights and weekends to prepare for the work week
• Must work well under pressure
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Superior attention to detail
• Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Skilled in navigating diverse personalities in the workplace
• Someone with a passion for movies, ideally in the kids and family space
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years of agency desk experience and/or scripted development experience
• Proficient with Final Draft and Adobe Acrobat Pro, Mac/Keynote presentation skills
• SAP experience
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $54,000 to $72,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
