About the Role & Team
This is a 12 month maternity cover contract role that requires you to work in the office 4 days per week.
The Deal Management team within Disney Entertainment supports all end-to-end operational processes for The Walt Disney Company Content Sales.
The role of Content Sales is to best monetise series and features content by licensing content to 3 key client types - TV Channels, On Demand Platforms and Transactional Distributors.
This team contributes to the sales teams' targets by finding opportunities for content packages and entering all deal information in systems aligned with the contract. Deal Management is not only essential to commercial revenue generation activities but also mitigates risk by ensuring we license rights accurately and report back accurate information to our stakeholders.
You will works with the Senior Manager in the team with a clear focus across Sub-Saharan Africa, CIS and CEE territories.
What You Will Do
Content strategy implementation
Possess a solid understanding of Disney Entertainment's content distribution strategy, key clients, and current sales priorities. Proficient in the content catalogue, upcoming releases, windowing plans, and library categories. Understand how these categories align with D+ distribution and Content Sales guidelines.
Content sales team business partner
Support Sales in achieving local targets by providing pre-sales support to content sales negotiators. This includes producing targeted product availability reports to build commercial and franchise opportunities, and coordinating with technical servicing on dub/sub-track availability.
Disney+ business partner
Support the continued strategy of Direct To Consumer services across territory clusters and ensure that D+ content priorities and EMEA content sales parameters on title restrictions are closely adhered to.
Sales operations & post sales co-ordination
Provide accurate updates on new clients, deals, and amendments in the rights management systems, coordinating with legal as needed. Regularly update programming, product, and deal information due to changes like episodic adjustments and TBA dates. Ensure timely notification of amendments to clients for all deal types and maintain data for transactional deals, including rate cards, age ratings, and release dates. Lead bi-weekly calls with Accounts Receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Stakeholder management
Lead client development priorities across CIS and Africa to meet financial year targets, reviewing contracts and amendments and advising legal on vital changes.
People management
Responsible for managing one team member, and supervising complex deal structures and data systems across Africa & CIS regions. Responsible for prioritising workload, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating career development for the in line with Disney HR guidelines.
Systems & process development
Collect and raise issues from incomplete data migrations and system issues, collaborating with the team to resolve problems and make crucial changes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Confirmed experience in the media industry in a distribution/rights management role (preferably studio-based)
• Knowledge of content sales across CIS, Africa and CEE.
• Experience in working with broad and high-volume content catalogues, both library and evolving slate and strong delegation skills across a high volume of deals
• Experience using multiple databases and business intelligence rights management systems
• Financial, legal and technical competence (as it impacts rights management) in addition to strong commercial savvy.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix organisation including stakeholders in legal, finance, IT, technical servicing and sales
