What You’ll Do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Accounting Department seeks a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support a variety of accounting functions, with an emphasis on accounts payable, data entry, document filing, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Excel, has working knowledge of accounting systems, and can manage multiple responsibilities in a collaborative environment.
Additional Duties Include:
Under the direct supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will:
- Maintain and organize accounts payable files and documentation.
- Sort and file financial documents.
- Prepare and process accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry, verification, and coding.
- Answer general accounting emails and phone inquiries.
- Assist with processing Foreign Levies and Clip check runs.
- Prepare and maintain Excel schedules for various balance sheet and cash transactions.
- Prepare financial documents such as invoices, bills, accounts payable and accounts receivables.
- Process daily check deposits and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain and update vendor records in MS Business Central.
- Oversee annual Iron Mountain storage review and update process.
- Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing.
- Preparing and processing daily check deposits into bank accounts.
- Assist in account analysis and account coding.
- Reconcile account balances.
- Make collection calls and send follow-up emails when required.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Perform general office tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, mailing, and other administrative duties.
- Support other members of the Accounting Department with various projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
- 2–3 years of administrative and/or accounting experience.
- Experience using accounting software (MS Business Central preferred).
- Familiarity with financial documents, reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion with confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage Excel spreadsheets and data accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in a professional accounting or finance environment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
