Job Summary
Deluxe Localization is currently looking for an In-house Japanese Subtitle Translator to join our Production Team in APAC. You will play a vital role within the company, ensuring the highest standards are always met to the satisfaction of our clients.
Responsibilities:
As an In-House Japanese Subtitle Translator, you will be responsible for:
• Translating Japanese subtitles for multiple projects/clients.
• Liaising with quality management team to create and/or approve translations where necessary.
• Coordinating with colleagues from worldwide production departments.
• Preparing training materials for our Japanese pool.
• Redacting and publishing guidelines, specs, and reference materials for our Japanese pool.
• Attending team and business briefings as required.
• Attending scheduled training events as required.
Key Qualifications
• Japanese native speaker.
• Excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Deep understanding of cultural/terminological nuances.
• English full professional proficiency (C1-C2) + other languages an advantage.
• BA in Media or Translation (or equivalent).
• MA in Audiovisual Translation an advantage.
• 3 years of translation experience is required.
• Knowledge of subtitling conventions.
• IT literate.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and handle high-security projects.

• Background in film or audiovisual production an asset.
• Previous experience on cloud-based platforms for localization services an advantage.
• Permit to work in your country is required.
