Subtitling Project Manager, Theatrical

This is a remote-based position.

Position Summary

As a Subtitling Project Manager, your primary focus will be to plan and coordinate a variety of pre-release, high-profile theatrical subtitling projects, supporting the main Theatrical Coordination team located in London (UK). In this role, you will be collaborating with a number of stakeholders, from Client Services to other global production teams, in an effort to ensure project milestones remain on track and projects are delivered to our clients on time and to high standards. You will be collaborating with our distributed workforce and client-appointed translators to complete translation, review and territory approval tasks. You will be communicating directly with client representatives in multiple international territories

You will assist management in monitoring and managing the lifecycle of subtitling projects and maintaining confidentiality, identifying and flagging any issues that require management escalation. Through your passion for collaboration, you will build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and cross-functional global stakeholders. You will work cross-functionally with Client Services, Global Project Coordination teams, Global Translator Management and Community Engagement teams, English Subtitling, Linguistic Quality, Product, and Technical Operations.

Main Duties
• Plan, set up, coordinate and monitor the end-to-end production lifecycle of subtitling projects in our proprietary cloud-based platform for localization services
• Accountable for on-time delivery of quality subtitles, strictly respecting the deadlines and specifications set by Deluxe clients
• Oversee all aspects of project management such as receiving work requests planning workflows and milestones, setting up projects in the system, booking translators and negotiating internal deadlines with various production teams while balancing internal capacity with external demands and expectations in a fast-paced environment
• Collect and keep track of all materials needed to begin work (i.e. scripts, videos, templates, other reference material)
• Interpret incoming details of project specifications to ensure projects are set up and executed accurately, liaising with colleagues from worldwide production departments to determine effective and efficient workflows
• Liaise with Client Services team, translators and territory affiliates regarding project status and requirements, obtaining and circulating all necessary information.
• Proactively identify potential issues/problems with projects in progress, formulate responses and solutions in a resourceful manner
• Ensure that production teams, external freelance resources and client-appointed translators are clearly and accurately informed of all client requirements for each project and comply with the same
• Resolve technical flags and pending queries from internal production departments and external stakeholders (i.e. translators, client territories)
• Manage custom payments for atypical tasks performed by external freelance resources
• Assist with coordination of redeliveries and rejections, identifying causes of redeliveries/rejections, completing Corrective Action Reports when applicable, and proposing solutions to meet KPI targets
• Assist in identifying the need for new procedures and contribute to updating existing procedures to improve quality of deliverables in the future
• Collaborate on production-related initiatives to increase customer satisfaction
• Maintain a deep understanding of client expectations and requirements
• Escalate production issues to the Leads and Seniors
• Communicate with all stakeholders in a professional, diplomatic and friendly manner.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule according to business needs

What You Bring
• BA/MA degree in Media, Communications, or Translation (or applicable equivalent), MA in Translation is an advantage
• 3-5 years' experience in managing complex projects within localization, with emphasis on subtitling workflows
• Background in audiovisual and film production/post-production an asset
• Sound technical knowledge, with an excellent command of Microsoft Windows systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google G-Suite
• Previous experience on cloud-based platforms for localization services is an advantage
• Exceptional communication skills across all levels (verbal, written). Knowledge of any foreign language an advantage
• Broad cultural knowledge and wide range of interests
• Proven experience and expert knowledge of various localization workflows with emphasis on subtitling for media & entertainment distribution channels
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, large scale and high-profile projects and tasks
• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Team player, ability to multitask and work under pressure of deadlines
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
