Manager, Subtitle Coordination
Position Summary
The Manager of Subtitle Coordination will oversee a team of subtitling coordinators and team leads responsible for planning and executing a variety of subtitling projects. Working with global counterparts, you will establish and improve processes for project management, promote best practices, and ensure client expectations for quality and on-time delivery are met. Primary Responsibilities
• Oversee the coordination of the end-to-end production lifecycle of subtitling projects in our proprietary cloud-based platform for localization services.
• Oversee direct reports in the Asia-Pacific region, monitoring their performance, conducting one-to-one meetings and performance evaluations.
• Maintain an accurate picture of current coordination capacity and future capacity needs using available technology, including Deluxe's cloud-based platform, Sfera, collaborative documents and Deluxe client teams and resources.
• Mentor and support team members, especially junior leaders in their development as people managers
• Liaise with various departments to provide schedules for urgent capacity requests
• Foster a nimble and customer-oriented team culture with a ''can-do'' attitude and a healthy respect for creative intent and the art of subtitling.
• Collaborate with global Subtitle Coordination leadership and other key stakeholders to establish and promote best practices for project management that support quality, on-time delivery and scalability.
• Participate in onboarding new clients and workflows with global team management and key stakeholders in the end-to-end production chain.
• Particpiate in various initiatives that involve innovation, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives in line with business unit and company goals to meet KPI targets.
• Maintain and track departmental performance metrics.
• Primary point of escalation for quality and capacity concerns regarding the Subtitle Coordination team. Perform/delegate root cause analysis and propose and implement preventive actions.
• Supervise and execute/delegate all production-related Sfera development scoping, documentation, and testing.
• Supervise and execute/delegate all production-related training, leveraging production staff, Training teams, and technology solutions to do this at scale.
• Secondary point of escalation for production issues.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule according to business needs.
What You Bring
• Comprehensive project management experience in localization, preferably for media & entertainment
• 5+ years of experience in managing complex projects
• Ability to motivate and manage individuals to consistently perform and improve.
• An attraction to applying deep critical thinking to difficult problems
• The ability to clearly communicate client expectations, project requirements and goals
• The ability to identify risks and effectively manage activities to minimize impact
• The ability to engage with and motivate culturally diverse, distributed teams (listen, influence, lead)
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
• Translation experience or knowledge of other languages is an asset
