Junior Systems Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Junior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT Team. We are looking for someone who oozes initiative and is looking for a position where they can roll up their sleeves and get involved in all aspects of IT.

Locally we are a medium sized company, belonging to a global organization. This means you will be exposed to an array of IT tasks.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provide assistance to the Australian and global IT Teams to maintain the standardization and monitoring of all workstations (desktops and laptops) and peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors, graphic tablets, etc…) within our various networks.
• Lead the IT onboarding of all new starters.
• Provide software and hardware support.
• Educate users on software packages as needed.
• Install new systems and optimize existing solutions as needed.
• Support the design and deployment of any new solutions, services, or architecture.
• Support all systems and workflows across the post-productions businesses.
• Assist in the installation and implementation new technologies.
• Contribute to the design, coding and implementation of new tools, pipeline updates and systems from within the IT group.
• Upgrade systems and software as needed to ensure highest level of operating systems, user accounts, permissions, security etc.
• Assist new starters with login credentials, email and other core business applications.
• Assist with ensuring all company security and IT policies are understood and adhered to.
• Manage security passes and access controls.
• Assist in the development of more efficient workflows in whatever way required, troubleshoot issues as they occur and perform preventative maintenance where necessary

What you bring
• Relevant IT qualification
• Industry Certification - MS, VMWare, Redhat, Apple, AWS, etc)
• Understanding of Networking essential
• ITIL Foundation Certificate
• Previous experience in a Corporate IT Environment and an understanding of Networking
• Experience with the following: Linux, Mac/Windows Operating Systems, AD Server Management, Microsoft, Linux and Mac Desktop Management, Workstation Maintenance
• Experience with Python, PHP and other coding languages
• Server (NAS/SAN) Support and Management
• Outstanding customer service
• Outstanding communication skills – written and oral
• The ability to work autonomously and the ability to self-motivate.
• Demonstrated ability to identify problem areas and look for ways to improve/ solve problems.
• The willingness to jump in and do what is needed make the environment run as smoothly as possible.
• High attention to detail
