Position Overview

The Adaptation Supervisor is to be the principal team member responsible for the quality of Deluxe's script adaptations for English Dubbing. They will be the driving force behind improving adaptation workflows, ensuring consistency across all projects and overseeing our internal adaptation QC process. They will work to collaborate with and vet freelance talent in order to elevate script adaptations to a consistently high level – a key ingredient of our final product.

Primary Responsibilities
• Adapting both lip-sync and UN VO style dubbing projects where needed.
• Reviewing adaptations for consistency and quality in order to provide feedback.
• Shaping and managing the department's overall adaptation workflow and guidelines.
• Communicating with creatives and producers regarding adaptation requirements per project.
• Supervising adaptors in collaboration with the producing team to achieve a high-level of quality, efficiency and customization per project.
• Observing recording sessions in order to better evaluate project adaptations and challenges.
• Help develop and expand the available adapter talent pool through training and workshops.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance workflows; develop tools and techniques to assist in gathering adaptation feedback and track recording progress.

Qualifications
• Minimum 8 years of collective scripting/writing experience, with at least 3-4 years working on localized English adaptations.
• Deep understanding of the art of lip sync dubbing, labials and language.
• Experience with complex individual and culturally sensitive content.
• Expert user of VoiceQ software – other scripting/adapting software a plus.
• Able to critique and provide feedback to others in constructive ways.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Comfortability in fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail, nuance and creative intent.
• Thorough understanding of lip sync and UN VO dubbing workflows and technologies.
• Exceptional competency in word processor and spreadsheet software. (Office, GSuite, etc.)

This is not a fully remote position. The ideal candidate will be required to spend time on-site to attend recording sessions, client mix reviews and interact with creative, admin and production teams across our studios in Hollywood, Culver City and Burbank.

This role is based in Los Angeles, California and the base pay range for this role is $75,000-$90,000 annually. Actual amounts will vary depending on education, skills, experience, and geographic location.
