First Move is a flagship business show on CNN International. Anchored by Julia Chatterley, we pride ourselves on smart, snappy writes and well put together segments. We are looking for a writer who is comfortable making sense of the markets, explaining cryptocurrencies and providing the perfect introduction to a leading CEO, all in a distinctive ''First Move'' voice.

We are more than just business news though, and on First Move every day is different. We follow both the news and simply ''what's hot''. The topics you need to write about could range from the fight against Covid-19, to setting up an interview with a top artist or chef making a new product or fighting for a good cause. Of course, because we are CNN, there will always be breaking news.

And we are looking for more than just writing – we want someone who will bring creativity and clever production to craft beautifully put together segments, using the best pictures, graphics and sound. We want good ideas, both on the editorial direction of the show and guests. We are a small team and value contributions from everyone.

This role will be an essential part of the First Move team.
• We need someone who is calm under pressure, able to juggle different demands and priorities and communicate effectively with the rest of the First Move production staff.
• You have at least 2 years of news experience, preferably in business news, but not essential.
• You should be a self-starter who can manage your own work flow, while being offered close support from the rest of the CNN business unit.
• Most of all- be ready to have lots of fun and grow with us!
