Public Relations (PR) Coordinator (1-Year Contract)
We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic PR Coordinator to join the CNN Communications APAC team. You'll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to get a behind-the-scenes look into how the world's leading international news brand operates. It will be a great opportunity to strengthen your research and communication skills while contributing ideas to future publicity campaigns.
Your Role Accountabilities
Support external communication outreach
• Draft and distribute press release to relevant APAC contacts
• Assist in research when preparing briefing notes for anchors / correspondents / executives for media interviews and speaking engagements
• Manage CNN media lists for distribution purposes, tracking tols like Cision, Telum
• Understand the target audience of the press releases and pitch to relevant media
Media Relations
• Actively develop journalist relationships and keep track of media movements and new publications.
Coverage reports
• Monitor print and online media for CNN coverage while staying abreast of industry trends
• Compile and distribute CNN coverage reports
Social Media
• Draft and publish social media posts on social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn
• Continually monitor social media activity
Other Responsibilities
• Handle administrative tasks such as invoices, subscriptions, vendor contracts
Qualifications & Experience
• University degree in Communications or Public Relations
• Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English. Other Asian languages a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong familiarity with key social media platforms
• Organized, detail oriented and an independent team player who can prioritize tasks and deadlines
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Prior agency experience advantageous
