Planning Producer (1-Year Contract)
The Planning Producer will research, book and prepare briefs for the show. The role works with the CNNi 24/7 Planning department where the producer will be called on to service the news-gathering and programming teams across the network in the event of breaking and developing news in Asia and around the world.
Your Role Accountabilities
• The Planning Producer will service CNN International's flag ship shows but will also work as part of the broader planning team.
• The Planning Producer will focus on creating bespoke content for the specific show along with identifying high profile and exclusive news and business news figures.
• The Planning Producer must be able to handle all arrangements for the guest speaker including pre-interview notes, travel or broadcast components. They must display a strong understanding of broadcast technicalities, display confidence in booking studios, coordinating with in house and freelance crews, and working with satellite providers for interviewees.
• They must have a strong understanding and interest in world events and current affairs, can assimilate information and work at a fast pace and be effectively responsive in breaking news conditions.
• The Producer should be organized and display strong written and verbal communication skills. It is imperative the person collaborates well with the wider news team, especially under busy pressurized work schedules.
• The show's interviews often occur in the field, and part of the role will be to work to deliver those interviews from the location to the show – some field production experience is preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
• 2 years' experience in marketing or events management; exceptional fresh graduates or those with slightly lesser experience may be considered for the Coordinator level.
• Excellent command in writing and speaking English
• Any other Asian languages a plus
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Excellent project and time management skills, multi-tasking abilities and agility
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
