OVERVIEW
In this role, you will provide editorial support to the team, with a focus on formatting stories for CNBC.com and publishing video clips. This role is ideal for candidates seeking an entry into a career in journalism and online news production, with degrees or relevant experience in journalism, communications, media or business/economics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

⦁ Working closely with a dynamic team of financial reporters and editors, you should have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, from transcribing interviews to researching stories.
⦁ Packing story copy including graphics and appropriate links to CNBC.com standards, making it compelling to CNBC.com readers
⦁ Writing fast and accurate breaking news copy and original stories based on televised interviews
⦁ The ideal candidate will grow into pitching original news and analysis pieces on markets, investing, wealth and finance

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Keen interest in business news and a passion for print writing. A strong team player, you have excellent communications and organizational skills, with plenty of initiative to work effectively under tight deadlines.
⦁ Knowledge of social media will be a plus, and you should be comfortable with handling various content management systems.
⦁ Ability to process and draw conclusions from quantitative information such as quarterly earnings, trade data, GDP figures and other numeric-based data
⦁ Interest in charts, graphics and data visualizations
⦁ Prior internship experience with an equivalent news organization is preferred, but not essential.
⦁ University Degree with a keen interest in current affairs.
⦁ Fast and responsive individual who is willing to learn and work in a fast-paced and demanding live news environment.
⦁ Good communication and team skills.
⦁ Capability to handle deadline pressure and work.
⦁ Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
