Title: Broadcast Monitoring Manager
This role will be responsible for building the team and processes for monitoring, supporting, and maintaining the company's critical infrastructure, focusing on the health and performance of FAST channel video content, and its ability to be monetized by ads.
This role is responsible for and contributes to the oversight and supervision of rotating shift schedule to ensure 24/7 continuous support and monitoring of the company's systems and services. This includes the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively monitor and support video distribution platforms and FAST channel feeds to ensure uninterrupted operations & maintain broadcast integrity.
• Perform live event monitoring for FAST broadcasts, quickly identifying and resolving technical issues to maintain broadcast integrity.
• Act as an escalation point for operations teams in troubleshooting/resolving technical faults
• Respond to alerts, minimize downtime and ensure service continuity, escalating issues to internal and external clients and partners as needed.
• Participate in incident response efforts, escalating critical issues to the appropriate teams, and working toward rapid resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and engineering, to support the overall infrastructure and improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Document incidents, operational procedures, and solutions for future reference, improving team knowledge and response processes.
• Assist with system upgrades, patches, and backups to ensure system stability and security compliance.
• Monitor day over day metrics like ad request volume, fill rates, and render rates, and flag fluctuations that indicate technical issues.
• Monitor the pacing of ad campaigns and flag when a campaign is under pacing.
• Provide reporting and correlate ad request volumes to other monitored data like viewership and outages of channels.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• 3-5+ years of experience with FAST, live TV, or PPV monitoring, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time in a Channel Monitoring Manager/ Broadcast Support Engineer role
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners with US client handling experience preferred.
• Understanding of FAST and digital live channel platforms including Amagi, Frequency, Wurl and various delivery protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in a high-stakes, real-time environment.
• Ability to supervise and work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous operational support.
Preferred Experience:
• Understanding of basic networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing) and their application in a media distribution context is preferred.
• Familiarity with video encoding/transcoding workflows and content management systems.
• Experience in monitoring tools (e.g. Vela (preferred).
• Experience with cloud-based media distribution workflows (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Experience with ad serving platforms (e.g. SpringServe)
