The Quality Control Assistant will work with the team to identify audio and visual issues within The Film Detective's classic film library. This role will need basic ''detective'' skills in order to identify information from classic films and find relevant or interesting clips for social media. This is the perfect role for someone interested in classic/archival films.

Key Duties:
• Primarily concerned with watching raw assets frame by frame from physical transfer, picking up on both audio and visual hits, discrepancies, and shifts throughout the piece.
• Perform basic edits, such as copying a frame or section or piece to hide a circle burn, large dust speck, etc.
• Flag all hits to confer with our technical editor.
• Pull relevant clips, interesting scenes, etc. for social media promotion.
• Project file management - follow proper naming conventions, organize materials for quick recall, maintain internal spreadsheets, etc.
• Enter film specs into master spreadsheets and keep data organized and cleaned.
• Identify key actors in classic films classic film stars across multiple versions to procure correct copyrights - take cues from title cards, investigate online, etc.
• Identify optimal areas to insert adbreaks and inputting information into the correct spreadsheet.
• Listen to audio and balancing levels and correct any issues or flag to technical editor.

Essential Qualifications:
• Attention to detail critical.
• Knowledge an or interest in classic/archival film helpful; or at least interest in learning.
• Self-starter.
• Someone with an interest in marketing, social media, fan engagement a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, After Effects a plus.
• Knowledge in or interest in learning frame rates and captioning.
• Ability to stay organized and communicate questions.
• Familiarity with excel is a plus.
• Basic ''detective'' skills to track down missing information.
