Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Operations - CBS New York (WCBS)

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the dynamic world of financial management within the fast-paced environment of CBS New York? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in the month-end close process, working with the controllership group.
• Every month, project and own the forecasting process along with the VP of Finance, such as reclassing or transferring expenses, benefits accruals, labor costs, etc.
• Monthly P&L review for missing accruals and forecast adjustments. Manage and track expenses.
• Develop and review with HR and compensation salary headcount budgeting and spending in relevance to hiring and/or reductions in force.
• Budgeting and forecasting the costs of news related activities.
• Become well-versed in collective bargaining agreements within client groups and know their vacation policies, penalties, missed meals, what they are eligible for exclusively for each union.
• Review PO's on a monthly basis.
• Assist with creating annual budget and preparation for budgeting meeting.
• Payroll forecasting including headcount analysis.
• Finance approver for open positions or updates to positions via Salesforce.
• Primary focus is financial planning and analysis for CBS New York, but may include other business areas as deemed necessary.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to.
• Invoice processing for utilities, lease and rent agreements, union payments, licensing, news-related items, etc. This includes over 100 invoices monthly.
• Additional ad hoc requests as asked by VP, Planning + Operations, News leadership, Human Resources + Labor Relations.
• Meet with new hires to walk through how to enter time via Workforce.
• Track and maintain union contract increase, submit, and work with managers.
• Complete union status notification forms for new hires, and updates to employment.
• Respond to inquiries from employees relating to vacation time, payroll, compensatory time, T&E questions, and all other pay-related items, etc.
• Escalate any payroll issues that arise to appropriate parties, such as overpayments, underpayments, or Workforce coding errors, and keep HR and department heads aware, if necessary.
• Track, manage, and maintain on-air talent contracts, step increases, and renewals.
• Review and Approve all Term Sheets for talent.
• Review and audit timesheets/payroll on a weekly basis for all staff within client groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in roles of increasing responsibility in Finance Management.
• Bachelor's Degree required, with an Accounting or Finance major, CPA or MBA preferred.
• Results-Oriented, innovative and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate leadership and management skills.
• SuccessFactors, SAP, Workforce, Oracle and Salesforce experience preferred.
• Out of market and outside normal business hours availability required, as this is a 24/7 news environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $120,000.00 - 140,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
