CBS News New York, the #1 station in the Paramount Skydance portfolio, is seeking a proactive and highly organized Administrative Assistant to support the operations of our fast-paced newsroom on a freelance basis. This role is essential to ensuring the editorial team can focus on news coverage. This role is a primary point of contact for travel coordination, supply management, and general newsroom organization.

Key Responsibilities
• Executive Support & Financial Tracking:
Manage and submit detailed expense reports for the News Director, ensuring all receipts are tracked and categorized accurately for reimbursement.
• Travel Coordination:
o Manage end-to-end travel bookings for reporters, anchors, and field crews, often on short notice for breaking news.
o Coordinate flights, hotels, and ground transportation while adhering to budget guidelines.
o Assist with expense reporting and travel documentation.
• Supply & Inventory Management:
o Monitor, order, and restock office and newsroom supplies to ensure the team never runs out of essentials.
o Manage relationships with vendors and handle deliveries.
• Newsroom Organization & Partnership:
o Partner directly with leadership to maintain a clean, efficient, and professional workspace.
o Assist in organizing internal meetings and guest visits.

Requirements
• Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or office management role (media or fast-paced environment preferred).
• Adaptability: Ability to handle shifting priorities and urgent requests as news breaks.
• Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of journalists and producers.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $65,000.00 - 75,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
