Freelance Receptionist/Department Assistant, CBS Sports

Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to learn the television sports broadcast working with executives from a variety of areas across the CBS Sports division? Then this position may be for you! As the first point of contact, the Freelance Receptionist/Department Assistant will serve as the face of CBS Sports by welcoming guests and employees with day-to-day support. This role will also provide administrative support to executives from the Programming, Business Affairs, Office of DEI, Communications, Finance, HR, and Office Operations teams. The position is based in NYC and will require the successful candidate to be in the office (with the ability to work remotely) on a hybrid basis. Our ideal candidate is highly organized and will have a general familiarity of sports.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Serve as a backup to Executive Assistant to Chairman and President of CBS Sports.
• Greet all employees and visitors in a professional, friendly, and a positive manner.
• Book travel and manage T&E expenses for EVP and VPs, as needed.
• Assist with scheduling and preparation of meetings, both internally and externally.
• Serve as a point person for all meeting requests, agendas, documents, and questions.
• Assist with planning of internal events, including Town Halls, Pressers, culture and team building events.
• Provide general administrative support, including but not limited to copying, filing, scanning, answering phones.
• Receives and distributes incoming/outgoing packages, postal and interoffice mail, Federal Express and UPS packages, and deliveries.
• Maintain all common areas of the office on a daily basis, including reception area and kitchens by re-stocking supplies.
• Supports with other ad-hoc requests, as needed, by department.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in an administrative assistant and receptionist role
• Excellent computer skills (Slack, Zoom, Microsoft, Google suite)
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Additional Qualifications:
• Strong interest in sports
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Able to interact confidently with individuals at all levels of organization, particularly senior management
• Strong comfort level handling highly confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to be flexible and work on projects outside of written job description
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, or sit for an extended period of time

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $41,500.00 - 55,200.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
