Job Description
Overview and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a business-focused Human Resources Manager to provide key human resources support for our Digital News teams! In this position, you will partner closely with leaders within our CBS News Network Streaming, CBS News.com and Social Media teams to provide proactive and thoughtful HR support to these 24/7 News organizations!

Working closely with the VP of HR, you will play a pivotal role in helping to facilitate our plans for achieving strategic objectives that include organization design and transformation, talent management, employee experience and well-being, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, compensation, and recruitment. This position will be relied upon to serve as a thought partner and strategic business partner demonstrating a strong understanding of HR practices and business operations.
• Work closely with the VP of HR to drive toward a progressive, proactive, and strategic human resources culture.
• Assist in developing the people strategy for the CBS News Digital teams as well as playing a key role in implementing HR programs critical to the digital news teams and their vision.
• Work with leaders to identify future talent and implement differentiated development and retention strategies to meet business needs.
• Partner closely with Talent Acquisition and provide resources, leadership and counsel regarding diversity and inclusion recruiting efforts.
• Partner closely with in-house legal counsel as appropriate to efficiently manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, conduct investigations, and address issues with employees.
• Support a population of union and non-union employees; work with labor relations and employment law to ensure company policy and collective bargaining agreements are adhered to.
• Have a strong working knowledge of dynamics and key business priorities of client groups to coach business leaders on effectively managing and leading their organizations.

Basic Qualifications:
• 5 years of progressive Human Resources Business Partner experience.

Additional Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
• Prior experience working as a human resources business partner supporting a fast-paced digital organization preferred.
• Demonstrable ability to handle extremely confidential information, act with integrity and use discretion.
• Proven ability to be a team player and work across a broader HR team.
• Ability to effectively counsel and influence management and employees.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully in a fast-paced, multi-tasking and dynamic organization.
• Passion for news, digital and a respect for journalism.
• Knowledge and practical application of HR teams including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management and leadership development, performance management, organizational design, recruitment, and compensation philosophies.
• Ideal candidate has experience working within a centralized HR function in a matrixed format.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where time is of the essence.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $85,600.00 - 107,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
