Job Description
The Human Resources Director will support CBS News' Hard News & News Magazine operations, a 24/7 business with 700+ employees across several shows and departments! This position serves as a business partner providing HR guidance and demonstrating deep understanding of HR practices and business operations.
Responsibilities
• Drive key HR initiatives related to culture, leadership, diversity & inclusion, change management, organizational design, employee engagement, talent management, compensation planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, and employee communication
• Understand dynamics and key business priorities of client groups in order to coach business leaders on effectively running and leading their organizations
• Assume leadership role in resolving employee relations issues partnering closely with our law department and central employee investigations team
• Interpret and implement HR policies, practices, and procedures when questions arise (D&I, time off, carryover, leaves of absence, health and safety, etc.)
• Manage staffing process, working with hiring managers and talent acquisitions to identify & implement recruitment strategies as well as ensure diverse candidate slates and top-quality candidate selection
• Work with ViacomCBS Learning & Development and/or broader CBS News HR team as necessary to provide program recommendations and facilitation to ensure that appropriate learning opportunities exist and are accessible
• Support a population of union and non-union employees; work with labor relations and employment law to ensure company policy and collective bargaining agreements are adhered to
• Manage/mentor more junior members of the CBS News HR team
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 8 years of relevant HR experience
• Experience managing and/or mentoring more junior members of HR staff
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
