UE Generalist (Canada Summer Job)

We are seeking a UE Generalist to join our team for a period of 7 weeks.

Timeline: July 18, 2022 - (7 weeks)
Type: 40 hours per week
Salary: CAD $15.65/hr

This position will be under the Canada Summer Job program. For that reason, to be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must be:
• Between 15-30 years old
• Either a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident (international students are not eligible)

Requirements:

Role & Responsibilities
• Work with Leads to translate written and verbal directions into visual solutions.
• Generate multitude of ideas and sketches of original and imaginative concept art for characters, environments and other virtual production assets.
• Communicate ideas effectively and recommend solutions to produce strong visual concepts.
• Work with other departments to create unique and extraordinary designs through an iterative process.
• Ensure necessary changes are made based on feedback to ensure that the art is in-line with the artistic visions.
• Support with in-depth research, reference material, and develop conceptual ideas for the art team to follow.
• Provide sets and props asset models and assemble those into fully dressed sets under the supervision of the Modeling Lead and working collaboratively with other departments.
• Apply strong knowledge of the latest industry standard tools, workflows, and techniques including physically based rendering.
• Meet project deadlines and milestones, including weekly quotas, as set by project leads and the production department.

Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience using Maya or ZBrush
• Prior experience working in film, animation, and/or game development an asset
• Strong fundamentals in illustration with a demonstrable sense of color, lighting, atmosphere and overall composition
• Familiar with 3D production requirements and be able to work directly with 3D artists
• Can deliver tight, detailed production drawings, character turnarounds, and schematics for modelers, VFX artists, and other team members
• Fast and efficient with current digital painting techniques in Photoshop and Unreal Engine
• Storyboard skills and action breakdowns a plus
