Senior Character Artist (Temporary)
BioWare creates games focused on rich stories, unforgettable characters and vast worlds. It operates primarily out of Edmonton (Alberta, CAN) and Austin (Texas, USA) creating some of the world's most critically acclaimed titles since 1995. The studio is currently working on future game experiences for the Mass Effect™ franchise, one of the highest rated video game series of all time, and the Dragon Age™ franchise, whose latest entry won 150+ Game of the Year awards.
The Senior Character Artist will report to the Character Director
This is a 6-Month Temporary role
Responsibilities:
You will:
• Create industry-leading character and creature assets in close collaboration with art, gameplay, and cinematic teams.
• Work with internal and external development teams to ensure a high-quality standard of 3D art
• Iterate and provide feedback on character and creature assets to maximise visual fidelity and technical proficiency for the project
• Provide art support on pipelines to finish assets such as creatures and aspects of character art including heads, hair, outfits, and complexions
• Troubleshoot and solve for aesthetic and technical issues with character content in the game
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in the industry
• Finalised and shipped at least 1 AAA for PC and consoles
• Experience with the Frostbite or Unreal engine
• Advanced skills in Maya, ZBrush, Substance, Marvelous Designer & Photoshop
• Experience working with external art vendors
• High level of understanding and experience with character and creature pipelines
• Experience in character and creature design and execution.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $93,700 - $143,700 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and after 3 months of service - extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
