Overview and Responsibilities

BET Media Group is seeking an accomplished media research professional to lead the Ad Sales Insights Team as Vice President – Ad Sales Insights and Thought Leadership. The VP is responsible for closely working with Media Sales to transform consumer insights into compelling sales stories that drive value for key clients. We are looking for a proven leader who possesses in-depth cultural understanding and a passion for the Black/Multi-cultural consumer.

This VP should be a strong strategic leader with the ability to effectively communicate and influence clients, senior leaders, peers, and direct reports. The VP should also have experience delivering insights in a fast moving/changing environment where hitting sales timing is critical.
• Partner with Media Sales teams to develop compelling, consumer-driven sales stories
• Provide Media Sales with category and consumer trend presentations
• Lead team responsible for supporting East Coast, Midwest and West Coast sales efforts
• Develop monthly newsletter to share competitive intelligence and cultural insights
• Partner with Ad Sales Research team to create return on investment analyses
• Bring segmentation studies to life
• Work collaboratively across all functional areas of BET Media Group and Paramount Global

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of relevant experience as a media researcher or strategist (preferably within Media and Entertainment Industry)
• Strong experience with qualitative (focus groups) and quantitative (surveys) consumer research techniques
• Strong wordsmith and storyteller with excellent client service and support skills

Additional Qualifications
• An experienced leader able to train, inspire, and mentor the team to elevate their work and think innovatively
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytic and project management abilities
• Expertise in creative visualization, editorial and reporting skills
• Ability to synthesize data and insights from multiple sources to craft impactful presentations
• Very strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with syndicated tools (e.g.: NPower, MRI, YouGov and Mintel)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $235,000.00 - 260,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
