Job summary

The Vendor Management Manager for Localization Operation will closely collaborate with Global Localization leadership on Operational, Financial, Creative, and Project Management initiatives, in conjunction with Post Operations and Studios Strategy. They will raise the bar regarding our supplier performance by building, curating, and nurturing a global network of localization vendors based on industry-leading quality, security, and frugality standards.

Key job responsibilities
This role will create new vendor on-boarding procedures as well as collect and collate all new vendor submissions for review by the Global Localization team. As this network becomes established, the role will partner with Prime Video, Finance, Localization Management, and regional offices in territory to define quality targets and financial metrics. With that research, they will also partner with Content Security to audit prospective partners' security processes and setup. They will own the operational relationships with vendors, and will serve as an escalation point for, and give feedback on, quality, communication, and on-time delivery issues that may arise with those vendors. Additionally, this role will partner with the Finance, Billing, and Local territory offices to establish a vendor rate card directory. This role will define associated inputs, outputs, and business requirements for related technology builds focused on localization vendor management and bidding. In new and emerging localization markets, this role will work with local territory experts to identify potential studio partners able to meet security, quality and capacity requirements for Amazon Studios; ensuring a comprehensive approach to on-boarding.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience interacting with the global network of localization service providers, dub studios, and subtitle companies
• Experience with localization bidding and billing processes, and familiarity with various service line costs from country-to-country
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with a variety of centralized Subtitling and Dubbing localization workflows and product types, including movies or series across multiple regions and languages, or experience working in the local office of a global studio or post-production environment geared toward work with the same
• Experience with acquisition and delivery of assets from producing entities to a studio or vendor
• Direct experience utilizing 3P post vendors and technical/workflow mechanisms from the beginning (greenlight) to end (distribution) of episodic or feature content life cycles globally
• Direct experience with a variety of digital media workflows and asset management
• Documented examples managing multiple projects simultaneously, with follow through to meet aggressive deadlines
• Detail oriented with excellent and proactive organizational skills
• Advanced written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Fluent in entertainment, post-production, and localization terminology
• Competency of wide array of media asset types and digital transport mechanisms
• Familiarity with foreign languages (Spanish, German, Japanese, etc.)
• Experience with both technical and content metadata organization and submission
• Understanding of security standards, requirements and protocols for high-profile pre-release content
• Familiarity with component-based localization and mastering workflows such as IMF or MMC
